Solution Architect - OutSystems

The Opportunity

Our ideal Solution Architect will evaluate business requirements and come up with solutions. Identify how the different elements of business, information, and technology can be applied to solve complex technical and business issues. Communicate a technical and architectural vision to help ensure the solution under development is fit for its intended purpose.

This vital role requires both deep and wide technology experience to deliver quality solutions to all customers. As a senior member of the team, Solution Architect will be responsible for delivering architecture and design solutions for our team to build applications that will thrill our customers.

Solution architect will be responsible for development best practices, platform governance models and the overall health and performance of the OutSystems platform.  As part of the Center of Excellence (COE) team they will also be building a technical roadmap for the platform and setting direction.

The Team

You will be joining MassMutual’s Automation and Doc Management Technology team. Our mission is to build reliable automation solutions utilizing Low Code application development technologies.You will be part of a team that is technical, highly motivated and excels at working in a fast paced and always evolving environment with agility and resilience. 

The Impact:

In this role you will be designing architecture best practices, common applications components, and working with business areas as well as Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, and Security compliance teams to design applications. We need your leadership, agility, courage, strong communication skills, passion for learning, resilience and self-awareness.

  • Participate in selection of technology, patterns, and standards

  • Analyze technology environment and create solution prototypes

  • Drive consultations with internal customers to understand business and technical requirements for projects.

  • Convey technical concepts clearly and confidently to non-technical people.

  • Participate in the development of new offerings and innovation in the modernization space

  • Work collaboratively across business and IT organizations

  • Problem-solve, prioritize, and manage projects using Agile methodology

  • Participate in team meetings to discuss ongoing project status and deliverables.

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or similar technical field of study

  • 2+ years of experience designing and development of software applications as a Tech Lead or Application/Solution Architect

  • 8+ years of software development experience (preferably with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, .Net, Java, C#, JQuery or similar technologies)

The Ideal Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • 2+ years of experience developing application on OutSystems or similar Low Code Application Platform

  • 1+ years of experience building business logic via API

  • Strong experience in developing web applications

  • Knowledge of relational data modeling principles and experience building database objects using E-R modeling tools

  • Knowledge of UI/UX Design principles and ability to build prototypes

  • Strong knowledge of SQL Language

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline

  • Experience using Atlassian tools, JIRA and Confluence

Soft Skills

  • Self-managed and motivated individual with strong leadership skills.

  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills. Ability to present complicated technical concepts for executive audiences.

  • Works with minimal oversight and proactively communicates status and risks to project leadership.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
