The Opportunity

As a Business Analyst you will work as part of a Business Intelligence Agile team to deploy robust reporting solutions to our stakeholders, enabling effective, data-driven, decision making.  In this role, as well as all roles within MassMutual, you will demonstrate accountability, agility, a dedication to be inclusive, a strong business acumen, and will show courage, even in the most difficult situations. The Team

The RM/PM/BA Team, as part of the larger Business Intelligence organization, is comprised of Relationship Managers, Project Managers, and Business Analysts. The team is customer-focused & consultative and maintains integral relationships with our MMUS Insurance Operations business partners. We are responsible for building a deep understanding of our customers’ business processes and challenges, and work with them to educate or identify potential reporting solutions to meet their needs. Members of the RM/PM/BA team will serve as the liaison between the business and their assigned Agile team to ensure the successful delivery of reporting solutions to the end customer.  MMUS Insurance Operations is comprised of all service operations for our life & disability, annuity, and long-term care businesses from Client Services through Claims.

The Impact:

As a Business Analyst your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with business and systems experts

  • Elicit business requirements/use cases & translate into well-written epics, user stories and acceptance criteria

  • Document technical requirements and business/technical process flows

  • Review business processes and information to drive requirements/user stories

  • Analyze and decompose business rules

  • Facilitate the ongoing backlog refinement process

  • Partner with data and report development team members to provide data/reporting solutions

  • Create test cases/strategy and execute QA testing

  • Create end user documentation

The Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a business analyst, project manager, or other analytical field

  • 1+ years of experience with Agile/Scrum and Story/Acceptance criteria development

  • 1+ years of experience with JIRA software or similar tools

  • 1+ years translating business use cases into technical requirements

  • Effective relationship building skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work productively in the face of ambiguity or uncertainty

  • Completed High School Diploma or GED

The Ideal Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Advanced experience with Excel and Visio

  • Experience in data mining and SQL

  • Experience working with Business Intelligence tools, such as Tableau
