Channel Marketing Consultant - Investments, Investment Product Marketing
(Full-Time, Boston, MA Office)
The ideal candidate will combine an investor-centric mindset, investment knowledge and a keen understanding of distribution processes in order to help create effective marketing strategies. A strong ability to influence both internally and externally will be critical, as well as the drive and intellectual curiosity to find innovative ways to drive engagement among our key intermediary investor segments. As a key business partner working in close collaboration with our internal and external partners, the Channel Marketing Associate is responsible for helping to coordinate and implementing strategies to improve awareness of our investment capabilities and ensure our investment products remain top of mind for advisors and gatekeepers.
MassMutual’s marketing department includes shared resources through our center of excellence service model. In addition to our centralized resources, we will leverage external marketing partners to help in development of marketing strategy and execution. This role will serve as a key player in coordinating activities between our core stakeholders on our product team, sales teams and both internal and external marketing resources to execute on growth strategies for our sales teams.
Assist in executing channel marketing and communication strategies to both improve awareness and increase adoption of MassMutual’s investment capabilities.
Partner with relevant business, investment, compliance, and marketing stakeholders across the firm to establish priorities, align work objectives and deliverables, execute marketing plans and report on marketing effectiveness.
Assist in coordinating activities and feedback from our sales teams to ensure channel needs are anticipated.
Work with our internal teams to help develop a dashboard to measure marketing results. Monitor consistency of agreed upon tracking methodology. Understand parameters of a successful campaign, relevant analytics, and help drive to desired results.
The Minimum Qualifications
3+ years product marketing, channel marketing, sales or investment (client-facing oriented) role, ideally within an investment management or insurance organization
2+ year of experience with proven track record in driving engagement and adoption of investment products in any capacity (sales, marketing, investment specialist, etc.).
1 + year of experience influencing internally and externally; proven ability to gain buy-in at all levels
Due to the nature of this position, as a part of our background check process, candidates must be able to pass a non-registered background check to qualify as a fingerprinted person under FINRA.
The Ideal Qualifications
7+ years of product marketing, channel marketing, sales or investment (client-facing oriented) role, ideally within an investment management or insurance organization.
Results-driven, high-performing individual with a keen focus on attention to detail.
Superior interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in various team settings and influence senior level partners.
Confident self-starter with the ability to work in a matrixed, collaborative organization.
Client centric individual with thorough understanding of advisor and investor needs and how to position investment strategies in the context of real-world portfolios
Strong written communication skills with the ability to track and convey project progress
Strong work ethic, professional demeanor and an intellectual curiosity.
