The Opportunity

We’re looking to hire a Business Project Manager to join our MMLIS Operations - Strategic Planning and Delivery team. You’ll be responsible for coordinating, planning, developing, and implementing moderate to large-scale business projects, as well as readiness initiatives.  

The Team

The MMLIS Operations Delivery team is a small team of project managers and consultants that support strategic, complex initiatives. Our goal is to partner effectively across MMLIS and provide a firm-wide approach to identify, prioritize, and successfully execute a portfolio of business initiatives that are aligned with the organization's strategic goals and vision. We strive for continuous improvement and best in class service to our customers. Our small but experienced team shares best practices, lessons learned, and supports each other at every step.

The Impact:

As a Business Project Manager, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Capable of handling broad scope business projects that have medium to long-term focus and strategic business benefits

  • Works independently and effectively across business areas

  • Capable of applying knowledge and skill sets to clearly establish expectations and influence key stakeholders to ensure successful business outcomes

  • Anticipate change and directs or redirects efforts

  • Looks for and finds ways to improve operations, process efficiency

  • Maintain a matrix reporting relationship with the Business Owner & Project Sponsor for all accountable project execution activities

  • Accountable for all aspects of business deliverables & readiness including support being in place before production implementation (people, process & automation)

  • Work effectively with cross functional teams, including possibly leading / overseeing multiple Project Managers

  • Identify, document, assign, track, and facilitate project issues through resolution

  • Accountable for identifying and resolving possible risk and develop/monitor risk plans

  • Confirm achievement of objectives, verify and document project results to formalize acceptance of business & readiness deliverables by the sponsor

  • Facilitate lessons learned for business team and retain information in a central location for future use

The Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience managing medium to large scale initiatives OR 5 year's MMLIS experience in a position focused on operations, strategy, or continuous improvement

  • 1+ year experience in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.

  • Due to the nature of this position, as a part of our background check process, candidates must be able to pass a non-registered fingerprint background check to qualify as a fingerprinted person under FINRA

The Ideal Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Project Management experience managing medium to large scale initiatives

  • 3+ year of experience with Visio

  • 5+ year of experience with Microsoft Project

  • PMP Certification

  • Strong communication skills, both written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task

  • Strong operational skills and experience within the Securities/Investments industry

  • Demonstrated ability to present to multiple audiences including Senior Leadership
