The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Consultant to join our Risk Technology team. This role is responsible for formulating and defining business and system scope and objectives based on user needs, industry requirements, and business strategy. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive analysis of business and user needs, document requirements, and translate them into actionable business and system solutions. You will work at the highest technical level across most phases of business and systems analysis, considering the broader business implications of technology applications on both current and future environments.

The Business Consultant will collaborate with stakeholders across all areas related to enterprise risk to deliver technology objectives and solutions supporting business strategy. Acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, you will analyze and define requirements and support the full life cycle of building and maintaining Governance Risk Compliance (GRC) solutions. Your responsibilities include collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

The Team

The Risk Technology team within Corporate Technology supports Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) data, analytics, and applications with a risk centric approach that improves decision making and performance. The team provides an integrated view of how well the organization manages risk and focuses on enhancing existing products and implementing new solutions.  The team continues to be successful in driving improvements in tools, technology and processes, for more consistent risk management and reporting.

The Impact:

  • Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to define, document, and analyze system requirements for new or enhanced configurations to existing or new technologies.
  • Partner with QA and UAT teams to ensure solutions are tested and validated against business needs.
  • Support end-to-end delivery, including requirements gathering, data validation, UAT coordination, and stakeholder communication.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and data integrity across risk management processes.
  • Manage stakeholder communications, including demos, release updates, and status reporting.
  • Evaluate system capabilities and functionality to recommend improvements that maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Ability to create, maintain, and update system documentation, user manuals, and technical reports.
  • Ability to troubleshoot break/fix issues, provide basic technical support, and ensure systems are functioning effectively.
  • Share expertise and knowledge with the broader team. Work with management to resolve key issues, critical decisions and time constraints on highly visible projects.  Coach and mentor others on own team or within matrixed organization.

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a closely related field
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in a business analyst role or a related occupation, with a focus on defining business and data requirements, process improvement, and supporting organizational change initiatives
  • 5+ years experience in systems analysis, business process modeling, and requirements gathering techniques
  • Must be authorized to work in US without visa sponsorship both now and in the future.

The Ideal Qualifications

  • Advanced degree, professional certifications such as CBAP or PMI-PBA, and experience in project management or leadership roles are considered an asset.
  • Experience with Governance Risk Compliance (GRC) solutions and platforms, including Archer IRM
  • Experience working with IT hardware, software, databases, programming languages, and systems analysis tools
  • Creativity and logic to troubleshoot system errors and recommend innovative solutions to operational challenges
  • Strong verbal and written skills to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and facilitate collaboration between IT and business units
  • Proven ability to balance and execute multiple complex initiatives simultaneously, adjusting to evolving business priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality outcomes
  • Ability to understand and translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and organizations
  • Proficient with standard documentation tools (Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
