Job Description

The Opportunity

Join our team as an Enterprise Architect in an industry leading EA function that creates alignment between technology and business strategy.  You will have an opportunity to guide the process of planning and designing capabilities to maximize the value oftechnology toenable the company to make high impact, long-term decisions supporting the InvestmentManagementCorporate Function(Portfolio Management, Derivatives, Credit & Market Risk functions). This will beaccomplishedthroughthought leadershipand architecture knowledge to high visibility business, technology, and architecture transformationsarchitecture strategies, blueprints and roadmaps that standardize technology stacks which create speed and agility through the innovative use ofstandardized enterprise platformsThe EA will work with a team thatembracediversity inall ofits forms.

The Team

The MassMutual Enterprise Architecture team in the Enterprise Technology and Experience organization is seeking an outstanding EnterpriseArchitect  tojoin our team.  Enterprise Architecture is composed of Business, Application, Technologyand Security, Data and AIarchitecture domains. Joining this team will give the EA a unique perspective and opportunity to partner with best-in-class architects onenterprise-wideinitiatives.

The Impact:

This role will work with Corporate Technology Finance & InvestmentManagementline of business delivery teams, product managers, and enterprise stakeholders to help deliver innovative, data-driven systems aimed at transforming the insurance industry.In this role, you will work in a fast-paced, challenging, innovative, and highly collaborative environment andbeexpected to work with significant autonomy and influence under an internal consulting model. Some of your major responsibilities will include: 

  • Develop and oversee the design of a comprehensiveInvestmentManagementarchitecture blueprint aligned with business and technology strategic goals and targeted outcomes. 

  • Analyze and develop a robust model that effectively connects our business strategies with our business goals, ensuring alignment and coherence. 

  • Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management, business leaders, IT architecture, and business development teams, to connect strategies and roadmaps with operational decisions. 

  • Create andmaintaincapability models tofacilitatethe identification of innovative and effective solutions that address business challenges and opportunities. 

  • Facilitate translation of business pain points and future state capabilities into solution needs to inform future state architectures and roadmaps. 

  • Facilitate understanding of the application and technology portfolio’s support alignment with capabilities andidentifyopportunities for potential improvement and portfolio optimization/rationalizationby stayingabreast of emerging innovation in the investment space to support business needs

  • Thought leadership and active participation in conferences and research with strategic partners and academic institutions

  • Partner with business executives and senior architects toidentifydata and process issues, thenprovidesolution options and recommends options

  • Provide recommendations on system options, risks, cost/benefit analysis, and impact on cross-domain systems, business strategy,goalsand processes

  • Engage in SA problem solving and documentation

  • Actively publishdeliverables, andutilizesmulti-mediato educate and engage with federated solution architecture community members. 

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelorsdegree inrelated field

  • 8+ years of relatedStrategy,Architecture or Leadershipexperience

  • 5+ years of ​Investment Managementexperience

    The Ideal Qualifications

    • In-depth knowledge of business architecture methodologies, frameworks, and best practices combined with an experienced view of how and when to apply them. 

    • Proven experience in designing and implementing businessarchitectureblueprints and roadmaps. 

    • Ability to think about business in a way that is abstracted from how the business functions and how processes and technology are implemented. 

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect business strategies with operational decisions. 

    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization. 

    • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across the organization.  

    • Sound understanding of business principles and concepts such as how trends and markets influence business, what differentiating factors are for the business, what and how values are created, and how strategies may be supported. 

    • Experience with IMBusinessPlatforms: Eagle, Aladdin,Clearwater,SimCorp,Calypso, Murex or similar

    • Experience inbusinessdata management platforms,designand integrations, ABOR/IBOR data layer, data modeling for IM domain, data framework adoption, mastering solution design

    • Excellent communication, presentation,influencingand reasoning skills

    • A team-focused mentality with proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders

    • Strong interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on the ability to effectively influence others,collaborateand partner. 

    • Understanding of the impact oftechnology useon business results

    • Strong decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions andidentifythe mostappropriate one

    • Experience insolutiondesignandunderstanding ofcost rationalization. 

    • Strong experience inBusinessArchitecture and Design patterns 

    • Developed acumen in Domain Driven Design 

    • Strong experience withArchitecture integration and development. 

    • Experience withBusinessdata interchange and API-driven systems integration decoupling digital and backend systems. 

    • Track recordof designing architectural reference material
