Job Description
The Opportunity
The Internal Wholesaler will support the distribution of MassMutual Investments’ mutual fund lineup by partnering closely with External Wholesalers and cultivating relationships with financial advisors across assigned territories. This role is integral to driving asset growth, deepening advisor engagement, and delivering timely, high-quality support to distribution partners.
The Team
MassMutual Investments Distribution partners across the enterprise to support the firm’s investment distribution strategy and drive business growth. The team works closely with sales leadership, HR, compliance, and external partners to ensure strong market engagement, effective execution of distribution initiatives, and alignment across investment products, talent, and licensing considerations.

The Impact
This role plays a key role in driving mutual fund growth by partnering closely with External Wholesalers and building strong, trusted relationships with financial advisors. By combining data‑driven insights, effective communication, and compliant product education, this position helps advance territory business plans, strengthen advisor engagement, and support successful distribution outcomes. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Partner with External Wholesalers to execute territory business plans and support mutual fund asset growth objectives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with financial advisors through proactive outreach, including phone, email, and virtual meetings.
Identify and recommend sales opportunities using advisor segmentation, analytics, and pipeline management tools.
Design and deliver clear, compliant mutual fund education, product positioning, and competitive insights tailored to advisor needs.
Support distribution initiatives related to fund updates, portfolio positioning, and evolving market themes.
Ensure accurate CRM documentation, activity tracking, and timely follow‑up to support effective territory management.
Prepare meeting materials, recap notes, and territory reports to enable informed decision‑making for external partners.
Stay current on market conditions, portfolio positioning, and firm communications, sharing relevant insights with advisors and partners.
Uphold regulatory and compliance standards across all advisor interactions and communications.
- May lead broad‑scope initiatives with a short‑ to mid‑term focus
- Proactively anticipates change and identifies opportunities to improve operational effectiveness
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree OR 5+ years’ financial servicesexperience
2+ years of experience in asset management distribution, internal wholesaling, or Investments experience
FINRA Series 7 and 63 required at time of application or must obtain within 180 days
Ideal Qualifications:
Experience engaging with financial advisors (RIA, wirehouse, or bank channels preferred)
Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, sales-oriented environment
Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office
Compensation: $65k-$80k base salary range, plus sales-based compensation resulting in a total target compensation package of $90-$120K
