Title: National Sales Manager, Life & DI, MassMutual Strategic Advisors (MMSD)

Reports To: Head of Distribution MMSD Life and Disability Insurance

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sales Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive national sales strategy, integrating market intelligence, competitive analysis, and partner feedback to identify growth opportunities.

  • Set and Communicate Clear Expectations: Define and cascade specific, measurable sales targets and behavioral standards for all team members; regularly review progress and address performance gaps promptly.

  • Drive Data-Driven Sales Execution: Implement and continuously refine sales dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to monitor activity, pipeline health, and conversion rates; use insights to coach and course-correct in real time.

  • Accountability and Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews, leveraging data to recognize achievement and address underperformance with clear action plans.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Product, and Operations to ensure seamless product launches, effective campaigns, and optimal resource allocation.

  • Territory Optimization: Analyze territory performance and reallocate resources as needed to maximize coverage, efficiency, and sales potential.

  • Pipeline Management: Oversee the end-to-end sales process, ensuring disciplined pipeline management, accurate forecasting, and timely deal closure.

  • Team Development: Recruit, onboard, and develop top sales talent; foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

  • Budget and ROI Management: Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring investments are aligned with strategic priorities and deliver measurable ROI.

  • Champion Change and Innovation: Lead the adoption of new technologies, sales methodologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.

  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all sales activities adhere to regulatory requirements and company policies.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of financial services industry and third-party distribution channels.

  • 10+ years’ experience in financial services industry

  • Strong organizational, detail orientation and relationship management skills are a must for this position

  • Series 6 and 26, Life & Health required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Negotiation skills 

  • Presentation skills

  • Comfortable managing in a fluid, fast paced environment 

  • Creativity to innovate, constant desire to learn and improve

  • Effective leader and team builder

  • Ability to influence senior leaders and business partners

  • Ability to manage to budget and measure ROI

  • Travel required, estimated 75%

  • Strategic thinking, planning and ability to execute

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field of study

Ideal Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of life insurance and/or disability insurance wholesaling industry experience.

  • 3+ years of managing, coaching, and leading others

Base salary range of $150K - $200K; Total target comp range of $400-600K
