Job Description
The Opportunity
As a Business Systems Analyst within the Business Data Strategy & Business Technology (BDSBT) team, you will play a pivotal role in enabling governed, actionable insights that improve productivity, customer experience, and operational efficiency—while aligning with enterprise data strategy and governance standards. You will work closely with internal business partners to deeply understand client needs and translate those into clear, comprehensive business and technical requirements for data transformation initiatives. Acting as the bridge between internal business partners and technical teams, you will document processes, data flows, and integration points to ensure solutions support analytics and reporting objectives. Success requires strong business acumen, the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences, and disciplined documentation practices that maintain transparency and accelerate delivery.
The Team
The Business Data Strategy & Business Technology (BDSBT) team is a dynamic group of data stewards, data strategists, and data analytics engineers in Operations’ Business Intelligence, Reporting, and Analytics (BIRA) organization turning complex business needs into actionable technology solutions. We foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and disciplined execution and regularly collaborate with Operations, Enterprise Technology & Experience (ETX), and BIRA colleagues, serving as the critical connector between business priorities and technical delivery. What makes us unique is our ability to blend deep technical expertise with business acumen, ensuring every solution aligns with strategy and accelerates outcomes.
The Impact
As a Business Systems Analyst, you will partner with business leaders, project managers, and product owners to capture and clarify complex requirements across multiple workstreams, ensuring they are complete, prioritized, and actionable. In this role you will translate business intent into clear technical specifications for engineering and vendor teams, document dependencies and sequencing, and maintain transparency through disciplined documentation of decisions and changes. You will collaborate with data engineers and architects to validate feasibility and align requirements with enterprise data strategy and governance standards. By driving structured prioritization and acting as a consultant during design and build phases, you reduce risk, accelerate delivery, and ensure high-quality outcomes.
The Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma

3+ years translating complex business requirements into clear technical specifications for engineering teams.

Prior experience in the insurance or financial services industry bridging the gap between business and technology data analytics and reporting needs.
Experience in agile or waterfall environments.
Experience driving strategic initiatives forward in an operations organization, working closely with leaders and associates.
Strong understanding of data governance principles, including metadata, data quality, and compliance standards.
Familiarity with enterprise data architecture concepts and semantic layer alignment.
Prior experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and understanding of embedded analytics use cases.
Knowledge of Salesforce data structures and reporting capabilities.
