The Corporate Audit Department at MassMutual is seeking a highly motivated and experienced information systems audit professional to lead a team of driven and motivated individuals. The Head of IT Audit is responsible for all audit activities related to enterprise technology and relationships with an assigned group of MassMutual technology functions and/or businesses. Leading a team of professionals, the Head of IT Audit possesses and maintains a broad and deep understanding of these businesses/functions, develops audit plans to address the applicable risks and activities, conducts audit work to analyze risks and controls, and provides reporting to relevant stakeholders. The Head of IT Audit is a member of the Corporate Audit leadership team and is also responsible for leading and contributing to various Corporate Audit division wide initiatives and activities.
THE TEAM:
MassMutual Corporate Audit assists the Audit Committee of the MassMutual Board of Directors and management in monitoring, analyzing, and strengthening internal controls. Corporate Audit consists of 50 professionals across MassMutual businesses at several locations worldwide. Our work supports MassMutual’s strategy on growing the business, enhancing profitability, and focusing on the customer, with emphasis on enhancing effectiveness and efficiency.
THE IMPACT:
As a member of the Corporate Audit Leadership team you will report directly to the General Auditor and you will work collaboratively across the entire Audit team. The impact you will have on the organization at large will come from implementing and driving the IT Audit strategy, evaluating company practices, processes, controls, governance, and risk management.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The Head of IT Audit is responsible for all audit activities related to enterprise technology and relationships with an assigned group of MassMutual technology functions and/or businesses. Leading a team of professionals, the Head of IT Audit possesses and maintains a broad and deep understanding of these businesses/functions, develops audit plans to address the applicable risks and activities, conducts audit work to analyze risks and controls, and provides reporting to relevant stakeholders. The Head of IT Audit is a member of the Corporate Audit leadership team and is also responsible for leading and contributing to various Corporate Audit division wide initiatives and activities.
- The Head of Information Technology Audit is a member of the Corporate Audit Leadership Team.
- Develop a world class IT internal audit capability through continually enhancing quality, coverage, timeliness, accuracy and value.
- Recruit, retain, lead and inspire a team of highly talented IT audit professionals.
- Lead professionals in conducting IT audits and advisory services in accordance with professional standards and department policies and procedures.
- Work in partnership with audit management, business IT management and other risk/control functions to ensure that Company IT processes, business activities, and internal controls are effective in managing operational, financial, regulatory and business risks.
- Develop and nurture relationships with IT business management and other constituencies to strengthen the value that audit adds to the business.
- Coach and develop professional IT audit staff to enhance business knowledge and client relationships such that the team represents highly sought after analytical business partners.
- Deliver results on cross-team efforts that increase Corporate Audit’s value and effectiveness.
- Contribute ideas and deliver results that strengthen IT internal audit practices and other risk/control efforts across audit teams.
- lead the development, implementation and continual enhancement of a comprehensive risk-based audit plan that reflects a thorough understanding of business activities, risks, functions, processes and controls.
- Recommend and collaborate on effective and efficient IT control improvements to manage risks.
- Generate reports and analyses that support management and other stakeholders in understanding IT business conditions and managing IT risks/controls.
- Serve as primary audit contact for senior management in assigned IT businesses/functions.
THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
This individual needs to possess strong IT knowledge and skills in relation to IT audit/control concepts and analytic activities, with a strong background in both auditing (8+ years) and the financial services industry (5+ years).
- Attract talent, develop the team, and coach the team to deliver valuable audit work covering various IT functions and meeting professional audit standards.

- Strong management/leadership experience with a track record of building teams.
- Solid background in IT audit, internal control, risk and governance disciplines.
- Champion continuous improvement by driving timely decisions and execution.

- Ability to identify solutions that effectively address business and control needs.
- Strong experience and knowledge in the financial services and/or insurance industries.
- Identify and prioritize audits aligned to MassMutual’s strategy and top enterprise risks.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and partner with other audit managers to execute joint audits.

- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
THE PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced degrees and related certifications (e.g., MBA, CISA, CISSP, CIA, etc.) are a plus MBA, CPA, CIA or other professional designation preferred.
