Salesforce Product Owner, Internal Sales Channel, MMSD
Full-Time, (Hybrid), Boston
The Opportunity
MassMutual Strategic Distributors (MMSD) is looking for an experienced and passionate Salesforce Product Owner to drive results and outperform our competitors in the Annuity market. You will have a strong desire to learn, practice and apply new skills in partnership with talented, experienced sales professionals. You’ll join a team that has a mission to broaden financial wellness and education to communities throughout the country.
We are looking for a strong individual contributor who will be a member of MMSD’s Annuity Distribution team. As Salesforce Product Owner you will be the champion of a key sales enablement tool, own the product strategy and vision, define the product roadmap, and deliver tools for our distribution teams (internal wholesalers, external wholesalers, key account managers and sales leadership). This role will be working on a mission critical application that is central to our success.
The Team
We’re growing and our clients deserve the best. MMSD’s annuity strategy is to aggressively grow top line sales by expanding existing and establishing new partnerships with our channel: Banks, Credit Unions, Wirehouse, National/Regional Broker Dealers, and Independent Broker-Dealers. MMSD is making significant investments in technology, sales, operations, marketing, and product development. Our strategy will be driven by the MMSD Annuity Team to work across the enterprise where we will prioritize a dynamic, agile, and entrepreneurial culture.
The Impact
As Salesforce Product Owner, your responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the following:
Own product definition and roadmap. Define and manage priority features in support of sales strategy
Accountable for prioritization of user stories in support of features
Act independently with little direction to understand and continually optimize the customer and user experience anticipating future needs as well as current needs.
Support or create documentation at the feature level for release management, production & operations support
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop stories (requirements) that are clearly documented with appropriate acceptance criteria
Build features that reduce friction in the sales process and directly enhance sales team effectiveness. Develop strategies and plans to drive end user adoption and optimization.
Collaborate closely with sales, reporting, operations and training teams to inform product design and deliver features end-to-end including driving adoption and seeking iterative feedback
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams of engineers, data & analytics and product to build solutions that scale across the enterprise and deliver incremental value
Provide insight to inform strategic planning in collaboration with Sales Management
May have project management responsibility.

A successful Salesforce Product Owner will possess the following skills and competencies:

Business Acumen: Articulate, inspire, create buy-in, and help associates understand the MMSD Annuity tools and how they fit in with overall MassMutual strategy. Drive business insight competencies with team members, identify trends and opportunities to drive increased sales results.
The Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience with Salesforce or other enterprise CRM platform, utilized within a sales environment
2+ years of experience presenting ideas and business information to various levels of leadership, including non-technical audiences
Bachelor’s Degree
Travel Required: Up to 15% - locally and to industry conferences
The Ideal Qualifications
BA/BS in computer science/technology or business
5+ years’ experience as a Salesforce Product owner
Demonstrated experience supporting projects/products using both traditional waterfall and agile/sprint methodologies.
Previous experience with Annuity Products
Must be detailed-oriented and well-organized self-starter with high energy and creativity.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects under pressure
