Manual QA, Flourish

The Opportunity
As a Quality Assurance Tester at Flourish, you will be responsible for working in close partnership with product, design, and engineering teams to write and execute test cases for both existing and new products and features. You will work in a fluid environment where things change frequently and be expected to adapt to keep your team focused to continually deliver value.
The Team
Since 2017, Flourish has been on a mission to help financial advisors evolve from holistic advice to holistic implementation to more fully serve their clients and achieve better outcomes. We focus on independent Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), delivering financial products that advisors can’t easily access today through beautiful, scalable, and easy-to-use technology.
Today, we work with over 900 RIAs that collectively represent more than $1.6T in assets under management across two products — Flourish Annuities and Flourish Cash — and with our recent acquisition of Sora Finance, we’ll be adding a lending offering in 2026. Headquartered in New York City, we are an independently-operating, wholly-owned subsidiary of MassMutual Life Insurance Company.

The Impact
You are a Quality Assurance professional with a proven track record of working closely with product and engineering teams to deliver exceptional software products. You have strong problem solving abilities and excel in both self-directed efforts and as part of a collaborative team. You thrive in fast-paced environments, can manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively to both set expectations and provide progress updates. You dig into requirements and ask clarifying questions to ensure that you understand expectations from product, design, and engineering.
You are able to decompose acceptance criteria and product requirements into well defined and documented test cases. You are eager to work with an exceptional team and you care deeply about delivering bug-free software.
Principal Responsibilities
Ingest acceptance criteria and product requirements from product and design and output detailed test cases
Develop testing plans to execute test cases for both regression testing on existing features and testing on new features
Help find, isolate, and track bugs through resolution
Catalog defects in detailed bug tickets
Use Exploratory testing to support testing activities
Partner with product, engineering, and design to prioritize and address bugs
Help build and maintain a prioritized bug backlog
Help build and maintain centralized test case catalog
Collaborate with engineering to help build and maintain relevant test data
The Minimum Qualifications
BS Degree Required
5+ years of Quality Assurance experience
Due to the nature of this position, as part of the background check process, candidates must be able to pass a fingerprint background check to qualify as a fingerprinted person under FINRA. For roles requiring registration, additional regulatory screenings may apply, including a review of Form U5 disclosures and other relevant licensing information.
The Ideal Qualifications
Proven track record of delivering software projects from initial conception through to completion
Experience building direct to consumer software products
Ability to work in partnership with QA engineering to maintain a robust combined manual and automated testing strategy
Experience working in an Agile framework
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a fast moving team under tight deadlines and shifting priorities
Experience working on complex workflow tools
Experience working in highly regulated industries (e.g. finance, medicine)
Demonstrated interest in Finance, FinTech, InsurTech, and related fields
