The Business Intelligence, Reporting & Analytics team enables Operations and key business partners across MassMutual by providing actionable insight to inform both strategic initiatives and operational decisions. Through industry leading tools, we empower all levels of the organization via analytics, reporting, data management, visualization and business technology, to name a few areas.  In short, we consult with leaders on business intelligence needs and represent it in ‘business speak’ with powerful visualizations to enable advisor centricity, business performance and align associate activity metrics.  On any given day, this could mean sourcing and structuring internal data, integrating third party data, deriving analytical insight, creating leading/lagging indicators or guiding data literacy to engage users in data driven decisioning across their teams.  We are businesspeople first, but we understand technology, coding, modeling and bring that together so we can guide functional strategy with analytics.

The Impact

Operations is at a critical growth point where we have integrated multiple business intelligence teams, technologies, processes and programs. You will have an opportunity to lead and drive strategic activities and planning associated with Operations Business Intelligence objectives.  This role is a unique balance of strong execution capabilities, business acumen and the ability to navigate the broader MassMutual organization as we shift to an advisor centric organization. You will demonstrate accountability, agility, a dedication to being inclusive, and will show courage, even in the most difficult situations.   • As the Program Manager for Business Intelligence, Reporting & Analytics, you will oversee, facilitate or work on initiatives that drive the strategic and operational direction of our program. In this role, you will collaborate with internal clients, our Internal Business Partners (fka Relationship Managers), and cross-functional teams to elevate the Business Intelligence, Reporting and Analytics function within Operations.  The new role is meant for someone where every day can be different and requires a person who thrives bringing process and structure to ambiguity.
  • Collaborate with roles within the Business Intelligence, Reporting and Analytics team to drive numerous “BI Next-Gen” initiatives with internal stakeholders. A significant portion of year one in this role will be focused on strategic development and processes for ongoing management of a web portal that will be designed from scratch and will allow persona driven access to key business intelligence tools, dashboards, training materials.
  • Establish roadmaps to create transparency into team deliverables, advise on prioritization, driving efficiencies to maximize the impact of BI initiatives – own and drive transparency on initiatives in flight by developing clear reporting and communication processes to keep leadership informed, enabling effective prioritization and decision-making. Incumbent will regularly provide updates in team meetings, leader meetings and ‘talk track’ for Internal Business Partners (fka Relationship Managers) with their internal clients. Incumbent must be comfortable presenting at all levels in the organization.
  • You will own multiple large programs that are the engine of the Business Intelligence, Reporting and Analytics team where responsibilities range from leading SteerCo, to influencing ETX prioritization to understanding cross-functional impacts inside and outside of Operations.
  • Lead the creation of compelling PowerPoint presentations, crafting clear and engaging narratives, including SteerCo decks, status reports, and other executive-level communications.
  • You will create consistencies in communication strategy, leveraging our Communications partners processes where applicable – from new tools and metrics to systems failures and tech decommissioning – with internal clients.
  • Serve as the owner of official metrics and scorecards presented to SLT/ELT, ensuring consistency and accuracy by consolidating data across business areas to eliminate discrepancies and establish a single source of truth.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Program Management experience with proven ability to work with varying levels of the organization to translate business requirements into actionable plans.
  • 5+ years of delivering measurable results in a program/project management environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated bias for action, with the ability to navigate abstract or ambiguous scopes and translate them into actionable plans.
  • Knowledge of MassMutual processes, teams and technologies, with the ability to navigate internal structures and leverage resources effectively to drive business outcomes.
  • Proven experience in program management, particularly within a business intelligence or data-driven environment. Experience leading projects in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong expertise in creating executive-level presentations, including the ability to craft compelling stories and communicate complex information clearly.
  • Ability to develop and implement processes that enhance transparency, track progress, and enable effective prioritization.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
  • Dynamic and proactive; flexible, resilient and comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Ability to challenge norm respectfully.
  • Strong experience in creating and implementing new business intelligence processes, with effective communication skills for both business and technical audiences
  • Ability to recommend and align business needs with ETX on evolving tech stack.
  • Ability to champion data literacy by meeting users where they are, including delivering webinars, training materials, and presentations to drive cultural change. Knowledge of data literacy programs and best practices for driving data-driven decision-making across an organization.
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence and Analytics concepts and frameworks.
