Job Description
The Opportunity
As the Strategic Business Consultant, you'll report into the Head of Advice & Financial Planning to support the organization’s strategic business initiatives and ongoing business functions from feasibility through launch, including the post-launch monitoring. You'll work across multiple initiatives and processes, driving High Net Worth Client Acquisition, Net Flows, and growth through Practice Efficiencies. Executing key strategies with our field partners to grow Financial Planning by curating and driving best practices to ensure new processes are implemented.
The Team
As the needs of advisors and clients change and demand more wealth management and planning products and services, MM Wealth Management has greater needs to thoughtfully and effectively engage with our Field partners to promote new and existing capabilities, products and services, and swiftly execute key initiatives that will positively impact advisors and clients resulting in growth. As a member of the Wealth Management organization, you will join our team of passionate experts across multiple disciplines including Product, Financial Planning, Practice Management, Lending & Banking, Trust, Investments and Operations.
The Impact
Responsible to work with subject matter experts and business process owners to develop workflow, process, and documentation to operationalize Advice & Financial Planning capabilities. Liaison with Advice & Financial Planning leaders regarding new technology workflows and enhancements. This includes identifying key Field and Operations impacts and providing support to create and deliver associated Training, Marketing and Communications to drive adoption and implementation. We are looking for individuals who help to drive our culture of continuous improvement, digital mindset and employee empowerment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Serving as the subject matter expert on the Advice & Financial Planning platform, the individual will develop practical solutions to increase Financial Planning adoption and help field partners operate more efficiently
- Support team members to implement new solutions and generate learnings in alignment with strategic goals to grow financial planning practices in the field
- Accountable for effectively leading and executing assigned business management responsibilities independently in the areas of advisor outreach, internal Advice & Financial Planning audit programs, financial planning sales enablement to maximize resources, regulatory changes and general business updates, and changes and enhancements specific to financial planning deliverable simplification
- Responsible to work with subject matter experts and business process owners to develop workflows, process enhancements, and documentation to operationalize A&FP capabilities. Liaise with Business Operations and other business partners to support effective management of Advice & Financial Planning new business and services, including consulting or owning business process definition, forms design and development, coordination of implementation of Operational and Service component of A&FP initiatives
- Act as A&FP liaison for Field Readiness, Communications and Marketing on such things as newsletters, project/program communications and business updates and changes. Provide input on audiences and timeline, including internal communications to department
- Preparation of high-level business project plans, milestones, and target dates. Collaborate with multiple business areas to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within specifications
- Proactively researches and applies best practices in terms of solution design and recommendation taking business capabilities, cost, speed to market, innovation, and other critical objectives into account
- Assist Advice & Financial Planning management during idea generation and assessment of new initiatives. Responsibilities encompass identification of critical success factors, legal constraints, operational and servicing concerns
- Support Advice & Financial Planning management after initial strategy delivery and collaborate with stakeholders and business partners to identify and successfully resolve issues
- Champion Continuous Improvement events involving Advice & Financial Planning. Responsibilities also include identifying issues and improvement opportunities related to development and rollout of planning services
The Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or a High School diploma + 5+ years of experience in financial planning or wealth management in lieu of a degree
- 5+ years’ experience managing development and delivery of business solutions
- Series 7
- Series 63
- 2+ years' experience in multi-department, enterprise-level initiatives
- 2+ years' experience in driving projects that touch, cross and/or impact multiple organizational areas
- 2+ year of experience with insurance products, distribution systems, and marketing concepts
- 2+ years of experience with financial services products and services
- 1+ year of experience working with and guiding senior management through large scale implementations
- 1+ year of experience working with Excel
Ideal Qualifications
- Experience working with clients, advising on marketing/business performance, and influencing decisions with insights and measurement.
- Ability to analyze datasets, identify actionable insights, and communicate findings via presentations and/or dashboards.
- Ability to present simple and compelling stories to audiences of all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent project management, organizational, and resource management skills
- Effectively communicates with peers and all level of management.
- Ability to coordinate activities across organizations.
- Ability to develop/implement strategies working with internal team, vendors, and consultants.
