Job Description
The Opportunity
Work directly with the Head of Financial Planning & Practice Management to develop and execute key strategies to grow Financial Planning’s footprint in the field through policy design, process, and platform design, as well as growing the Case Consulting Unit’s effectiveness and results. Coordinate efforts across the organization to align to a new Practice Management philosophy and approach.
Lead team to effectively consult agency leaders on the development of best business model approach to achieve their long-term goals, helping them drive growth, and build scale
Design and develop processes for Practice Management across the Field and lead the team to deliver across a broad range of factors related to practice structure and growth, including:
team roles and responsibilities,
scaling their business,
succession and continuity programs, including teaming,
introducing a tiered service matrix, and
maximizing their time to achieve growth through consistent and repeatable systems and processes
Works with Home Office partners in MassMutual Financial Advisors to provide holistic support for all phases of the business life cycle
Regularly engages with Head of Advisor Loan Programs, agency leaders and advisors on practice valuations, deal consulting, and acquisitions.
Collaborates with Advice & Financial Planning Business Development Resources and Product Partners on identifying business opportunities, and implementing systems within the agencies to ensure continued implementation of balanced practices.
Coordinates broad field data collection through advisor surveying to help agencies be more targeted in their focus areas of growth
Collaborates with Enterprise Technology Experience, Distribution Platform and Readiness, and Marketing Technology to develop and enhance client acquisition and practice management platforms.
The Minimum Qualifications
B.A. in Business/Economics or other similar degree
Series 24 licensed, or ability to obtain the licensing in 2 years
10+ years’ experience in financial services
Experience in multi-departments, enterprise-level initiatives
Successfully managed projects that touch, cross and/or impact multiple organizational areas
Has worked with and guided senior management through large scale implementations.
In depth knowledge of insurance products, distribution systems, and marketing concepts
In depth knowledge of financial services products and services
The Ideal Qualifications
CFP® designation preferred.
Deep understanding of the issues facing financial advisors as small business owners
Understands Financial, Wealth and Insurance Products and the demands these disciplines place on an advisor practice
Can vary their communication style between either coaching or consulting based on the demands of the situation
Strong presentation skills in both live and virtual formats
Ability to clearly communicate nuanced concepts and navigate sometimes complex interpersonal dynamics.
Strong Excel modeling, analytical and creative problem-solving skills
Familiarity with managerial accounting concepts and the ability to read and interpret financial statements
Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-demand, dynamic environment
Ability to work as both a collaborative team member and lead a team
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent listening and follow-up skills
