The Team

The Investment Marketing team is part of the broader Product Marketing group within MassMutual and is dedicated to supporting the products and services offered through MassMutual Investments.  We are a smallish team, but we are supported by the broader marketing organization.  This means your managerial role will have a big impact on both getting the core marketing completed each quarter as well as helping to develop longer-term messaging and campaigns.

The Impact:

This role is responsible for marketing strategies to support the sale and promotion of the MassMutual Investment business and related products. This role will manage a team of product marketing consultants and strategists who create marketing programs and campaigns, materials, sales concepts, competitive positioning, and more. The person in this role must have experience developing strategy, a strong understanding of investments and fund marketing, deep knowledge of the industry, proven ability to create marketing messages, and the ability to build relationships and collaborate closely with business partners and stakeholders.  This person may also participate in the product strategy development and will contribute to the product and marketing initiative planning activities. This role also manages key quarterly and annual fund marketing content updates, as required by regulations, and as needed.

Manages and develops team that:

  • Develops and maintains core product collateral and advanced concepts

  • Contributes to the overall Investments product marketing strategy

  • Participates in product development and product deployment process and spearheads product research

  • Initiates and manages engagement with COE partners including integrated marketing and research

  • Manages channel marketing execution responsibilities for the promotion, packaging, and delivery of marketing campaigns to support sales

  • Engages leaders in COEs, strategy channel teams and business stakeholders for buy-in and alignment on marketing initiatives and capabilities to support the greater marketing function

  • Participates in product and marketing initiative planning activities

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 7+ years investments and/or fund marketing to advisors and consumers experience.

  • 2+ years of experience driving Marketing strategy with high-level understanding of the role and B2B, B2B2B, and B2C traditional marketing funnel activities across various mediums.

  • 2+ years of experience and deep understanding of Investments, funds and sub-advised funds, and technical specifications in relation to competitive alternatives.

  • 2+ years of experience leading, managing, or mentoring team members.

  • 3+ years Investment distribution channels experience

  • Due to the nature of this position, as a part of our background check process, candidates must be able to pass a non-registered fingerprint background check to qualify as a fingerprinted person under FINRA.

The Ideal Qualifications

  • 10+ years investment and/or fund marketing to advisors and consumers expereince.

  • FINRA Series 6 or 7.

  • Deep level of understanding of Investments, funds and sub-advised funds, and technical specifications in relation to competitive alternatives.

  • Ability work in a cross functional team and provide clear and concise message that drives engagement from those using our content.

  • Proven success juggling multiple priorities through strong project management skills

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels within and outside the Marketing organization

  • Ability to problem-solve and identify process efficiencies

  • CLU, ChFC, CFP, or other advanced industry designations preferred

  • Extremely strong written communication skills, with demonstrated creative and message development.

  • Microsoft office - Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Skype, SharePoint, Box and Outlook.
