The Opportunity
As the Technology Lead:Corporate Tech Engineering, you are a hands-on technical expert that will be part of a dynamic and innovative team that delivers cutting-edge, transformational solutions. You will collaborate with highly skilled software engineers, data engineers, cloud engineers, and people leaders to transform business needs into robust, scalable, and efficient platforms that provide critical business capabilities. You will then lead the design and implementation of those critical, high impact platforms. The ideal candidate is a high energy, senior technical leader with a proven track record of designing, architecting, and implementing high volume, scalable distributed systems that enable desired business outcomes. They’re also adept at upholding engineering standards, collaborating effectively with senior management and a wide range of stakeholders, and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement.

The Corporate Technology Team provides essential platforms that enable strategic capabilities for the Investment Management, Corporate Finance, Enterprise Risk, HR & Employee Experience, and Law organizations. The Impact:
As the Technology Lead:Corporate Tech Engineering, you will:
Influence strategic direction and lead execution, focused on the architecture, design, and implementation of large scale, high volume, distributed systems that enable business outcomes.
Deliver large-scale initiatives that align with and support strategic goals on time and within budget.
Decompose complex problems into practical and operational solutions.
Be viewed as a thought leader and highly seasoned expert on non-functional system aspects, such as performance, scalability, and resilience.
Influence, collaborate, and provide innovative solutions across the organization.
Lead multiple projects simultaneously, balancing your time to maximize impact.
Evaluate vendors and technology options including ROI, total cost of ownership, and tradeoffs and share recommendations with ETX and business executives.
Foster a culture of engineering excellence and balance your expertise and inclusion of others' ideas.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, architects, and managers and drive the adoption of best practices, standards, and methodologies across the organization.
Stay current with industry trends and developments and apply them to ETX and/or MassMutual.
The Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
10+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, and design patterns
8+ years of the full lifecycle of system development, from conception through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment and production support
8+ years of experience in back-end development using object-oriented programming languages e.g., C#, Java, Python, TypeScript, etc.
8+ years of experience in front-end development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, etc.
5+ years of experience with cloud platforms e.g., AWS, Azure, etc.
Proven track record of leading large scale cross functional initiatives
Demonstrated experience in driving innovation, automation, and change leadership
Ability to work well across multiple priorities and multiple deliverables
Excellent relationship building, influencing and communication skills
Experience with technology platforms supporting financial institutions
The Ideal Qualifications
Master’s degree in computer science or a related field
15+ years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture
10+ years of experience coding in commonly used languages e.g., Java, C#, Python, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, Swift
10+ years of experience in the full lifecycle of system development, from conception through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment and production support
8+ years of experience with public or private cloud technologies
